Gail Harrington is the owner, manager, and director of training programs at Black Magic Farm, more formally referred to as Gail Harrington's Equestrian Services LLC. Gail has strong personal competition background which includes eventing to preliminary level at USCTA on the east coast, dressage to F.E.I. Prix St. George.

Gail's educational background is varied with a balance between both French and German systems. In 1984, she began training with Jean-Luc Cornille, Maitre de Manege of the Cadre Noir at Samur. Jean-Luc is known for his contributions in the study of biomechanics of equine athletes. Riding sessions focus on synchronization of the rider's aids to the actions and coordination levels of the horse underneath. A great appreciation for the intelligence of the horse as a willing student under the rider is emphasized and developed. These are concepts that Gail has applied with success to her own horses and brings to her students today.

Other trainers Gail has studied with include Major Anders Lindgren of Sweden & Karl Milkolka, a Bereiter at the Spanish Riding School in Austria, now living in the US, many years director of the Lippizan Training at Temple Farm in Illinois. Gail also enjoys breeding and raising young quality warmbloods at her farm in South Hampton, New Hampshire. Starting young horses under saddle patiently is a specialty.
